Lockwood Park Trailside Centre and Children's Farm
Rules and Policies
Lockwood's Animals
Please ask before petting any of the animals and keep an eye on small children. They should not be allowed to get near the horses' feet or big teeth. Please do not feed any of the animals in the park unless purchasing approved feed at Children's Farm. Our animals are on diets specially created for them and any unapproved food could make the animals very sick.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome in the park while on leash, but please remember to clean up after them. You may not enter any of the horse areas with your dog. Many of the animals in the park are afraid of dogs. Please do not let your dog chase, harass or bark at any of the animals or ducks that live in the park.
Geese Peace
We participate in the Geese Peace program, which encourages Canada Geese to resume their normal migration pattern. Feeding the Canada Geese is prohibited in the park. From time to time, you may see people working with herding dogs, trained to help us keep the geese under control.
Horseback Riding
You may bring your horse to Lockwood and ride for the day. Please follow marked trails for entering the woods. Please be courteous and pick up any manure your horse leaves in the parking lots or driveways. The arenas are also available to the public whenever Lockwood programs are not being held.
