Help Me Play Fee Assistance Program

Help Me Play Expanded Header

The Rockford Park District believes that youth should not be denied access to learning an important lifelong skill due to the inability to pay. Those who are eligible to participate in the Help Me Play Financial Assistance Program may receive 65% off of Rockford Park District programs and lessons. Below is a list of the eligibility requirements for the Help Me Play program. Assistance is also available for adults with disabilities. We also offer donation opportunities and other ways to Play it Forward!

Help Me Play Eligibility Guidelines (must meet all requirements)

1. Apply in person at a Rockford Park District Customer Service location and complete the HMP Application Form.

2. Be a resident of Rockford or foster parent

  • Rockford residents need to provide a picture ID. If you feel you are a resident but your ID does not list you as a Rockford resident or in approved Loves Park ZIP codes, you may bring in tax information to verify proof to staff.
  • If you are a foster parent, residency is not required, but you must provide the Foster 906 form and picture ID.

3. You must be able to provide proof of guardianship

  • This can be done by showing one of the following items: Medical Card, birth certificate, student record, tax statement, or Foster 906 form.
  • NOTE: Proof of Guardianship is not needed for adult applicants unless using guardian income.

4. You must be able to provide proof of financial need. Below are examples of required documentation:

  • One month’s worth of pay check stubs, tax statement, or Foster 906 form

Recreation can transform lives by providing purpose, pleasure, health, and well-being. The Rockford Park District believes there are endless benefits to recreation. It's a great tool to grow and learn. Recreation enables people to make friends, have fun, and develop a new skill. We encourage those who play to help others play, especially if you or your group received financial assistance from the Rockford Park District. The best way you can say "thanks" is to help someone else "enjoy life!"
